Arkansas

A family member was involved in the theft of 2 guns (not handguns) in Arkansas. He later (several weeks) regretted his involvement and turned the guns in to authorities, where he was arrested and charged w/ 2 felonies. what are the chances of getting the charges reduced? What is your advice? He has no criminal record before this. He is 19.The state is: ?

      My advice to him is to get an attorney and speak only to him.

      Why should the charges be reduced?

    • Stealing firearms is pretty serious. Suddenly realizing that and returning what was stolen does not mitigate the crime.

      He will get no more consideration for plea bargining than anyone else.
